D’Harmo Monde – Diversity Award 2011

The D’Harmo Monde collective is the winner of the Diversity Award 2011. This sextet is composed of four harmonica players — Jason Rosenblatt, Pascal « Per » Veillette, Samuël Caron and Lévy Bourbonnais — as well as multitalented percussionist Moïse Yawo Matey and versatile singer/percussionist Sabah Lachgar.

The collective’s members will officially receive their award November 1, 2011, during the ceremony of the Prix de Montréal pour les arts et la culture. For the occasion, D’Harmo Monde will perform an exclusive musical piece. Their first concert takes place during the Vitrine des musiques métissées, an event presented by Vision diversité on Novembre 20, 21 and 22 at L’Astral and Place des Arts. D’Harmo Monde will also perform at the MAI – Montréal, arts interculturels on January 21, 2012. This concert will be recorded by official broadcaster CBC Radio Montreal and will be made available as a podcast on the CBC’s website.
